Malaysia Airlines unveiled its Business and Economy Class seats on its new Airbus A330neo aircraft, and announced plans to launch new flights to three new destinations.


During the MATTA Fair 2024, the Kuala Lumpur-based carrier announced the launch of three new routes to Male, Maldives, Da Nang, and Chiang Mai. 


Daily flights to Male will start on August 1, followed by five-times weekly flights to Chiang Mai on August 15. Daily flights to Da Nang will start on September 24.


Airbus A330neo Cabin


Ahead of the delivery of the first Airbus A330neo for Malaysia Airlines, the Kuala Lumpur-based carrier also unveiled the new interiors of the aircraft for those attending the MATTA Fair.


According to Malaysia Airlines, its new A330neo aircraft can accommodate 297 passengers- 28 Business, 269 in Economy. 24 of the Economy seats will feature extra legroom. The aircraft will feature many “firsts” for the airline and the fleet.


On the new A330neos will be the 28 Collins Aerospace Elevation Business Class seats – with an all-suite cabin and individual privacy doors. The airline will be the first to introduce the Business Class product on an A330. The Economy Class will feature 269 Recaro CL3810 seats.




Malaysia Airlines expects to receive its first A330neo during the third quarter of 2024. According to reports from outlets such as FlightGlobal, the airline's first route using the widebody jets will be to Melbourne, Australia in November.
